Our track of the week comes from South America, probably the largest hub for progressive house in the world.
Progressive heavyweight Sebastian Busto delivers a classic, progressive house remix of “Rename it” by Francisco Castro. Of all the tracks we heard last week, this was tops for us.
The track is eight minutes of pure, restrained progressive house. It opens with a distant vocal choir pad, followed by nice tightly programmed percussion. There is a nice, slow build of elements in this track. We get two minutes in before we have the snare and main rhythm section drop. This tight rhythm section is the backdrop for different melodic bits that float in and out. Perfect for long, layered mixes or dropping early in a night.
